Hi, I’m Mona and I just came back from my 10 month adventure in Milano! I was looking for an escape from my routine in Sofia and in March I found myself in Italy!

I had a lot of free time in the mornings to explore the city during the week, since I was busy with the center only in the afternoons. On weekends I was almost always out of town exploring. It’s amazing how many interesting things there are in the region no more than 3 hours away. You’ve got 5 huge beautiful lakes 1-2h away, mountains 1h away, the sea is again 2h from Milano, plenty of small cute towns with rich history around.
Last, but not least, I was sharing the flat with 5 other girls the first 6 months, then 5 new ones came (since I extended my project after the 6th month for another 4 months), from very different places, so I was living in a multicultural flat, which was very interesting and we’ve learnt much about each other and our countries, cooking traditional meals, discovering similarities and differences. I have to say I was very lucky with the flatmates, we got along really well and had many adventures together. I believe the ESC programs bring wonderful people together!
